Poly-Tube

Poly Tubes are created using linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) or polypropylene (PP).  Both materials provide a flexible tube that is crack-resistant. The plastic tubes are created using injection molding.  They range in size from 1cc to 10cc and have a nozzle opening. The caps are molded from polypropylene, a rigid material that protects the tip and reseals it.

Poly Tubes are automatically filled using the top-quality Norden filling equipment then automatically sealed and capped.  This automated process keeps the products and tubes sterile. The tip must be cut or twisted off in order for the Poly Tube to be used, a feature that helps to maintain the integrity of the product.

The Poly Tubes and caps can be manufactured to match any desired Pantone color. Additionally, a silk-screening process can be used to add decoration, working and logos around the tube. The printing on Poly Tubes is limited to one color.   Adding creative to Poly Tubes provides a brand awareness opportunity for your company.

Andrew M. Martin Co. Poly Tubes are designed for sampling, single-dose, retail, travel-size, trial-size, promotional, tester, unit packaging, starter or amenity packaging of liquids, lubricants, lotions, greases, creams, pastes, gels, oils, alcohol-based & viscous products.

Poly Tubes are used extensively in the cosmetic, cosmeceutical, nutraceutical, personal care, industrial & automotive industries.

White and natural tubes, with many different color caps, are available from stock and tubes can be made to match any Pantone color desired.

Decoration is done using a silk-screen process, in one color, around the circumference of the tube.  When the tube is crimped, a front and back side of the artwork is formed. A 3/32” x 1/4” registration mark above the active print area is required for filling.

Body:

Tubes are injection molded using LLDPE (linear low density polyethylene) or PP (polypropylene) in sizes ranging from 1 cc to 10 cc.  LLDPE and PP offers a soft, squeezable tube with excellent barrier quality and stress crack resistance. Our tubes feature a blemish free surface with no parting lines.

LLDPE – Linear low-density polyethylene differs structurally from conventional low-density polyethylene because of the absence of long chain branching. The linearity of LLDPE results from the different manufacturing processes of LLDPE and LDPE. LLDPE has higher tensile strength and higher impact and puncture resistance than LDPE. It is very flexible and elongates under stress. It can be used to make thinner films, with better environmental stress cracking resistance. It has good resistance to chemicals and to ultraviolet radiation. It has good electrical properties. LLDPE, has lower gloss, and narrower range for heat sealing.

Polypropylene (PP), also known as polypropene, is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications. An addition polymer made from the monomer propylene, it is rugged and unusually resistant to many chemical solvents, bases and acids. Polypropylene is normally tough and flexible, especially when copolymerized with ethylene. This allows polypropylene to be used as an engineering plastic, competing with materials such as ABS. Polypropylene is reasonably economical, and can be made translucent when uncolored but is not as readily made transparent. It is often opaque or colored using pigments. Polypropylene has good resistance to fatigue.

Cap:

Our tube design includes a tamper evident, precision flow tip which, when cut or twisted off, exposes the nozzle opening. Our friction fit cap, molded from rigid poylpropylene,  prevents breakage of the safety tip and reseals a partially used tube.  Caps are available in many color Pantone matches.
